[origin: EP0287162A2] The unit consists of a funnel (1) with a transverse sieve (4) between its cone-shaped upper end (2) and its perforated outlet end (6). The tip (8) of the funnel is also tapered to fit into the sink overflow pipe (7), which provides a constant flow of clean water. Solid waste materials (16) from the drinking glasses are held back by the sieve when the glasses are emptied into the funnel, while any remaining liq. is flushed down the overflow pipe and into the waste (10). The funnel can be taken out of the overflow to be emptied from time to time.
