Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8802604A1] A protective garment (10) made of material (11) which includes a high barrier, multi-layer film (20) incorporating EVOH (43) laminated to a spun bonded polyester substrate (21). The film (20) is a five layer construction with a layer of EVOH (43) in the middle, bracketed by water resistant bonding resin layers (42), (44) and outer layers of polyethylene or polyester (41), (45). The substrate is formed with low temperature binders (EVA), (PVA) and is calendered on both sides, the outer side being calendered much more extensively than the inner side. The material (11) is joined together at pattern edges (31, 32), (131, 132) by thermal bonding (12) under pressure or by a strip (135) of the film (120) thermal bonded to material segments (111).
