A spur for an ice-climbing iron as a component of mountaineer ice- climbing irons can be formed in such a manner that a long functional life, simple restoration of the functionality and safe comfortable transport are guaranteed. The spur for an ice-climbing iron according to the invention can be described as an essentially triangular flat shaped part with a tapered contact region which is of non-pointed e.g. rectangular design, and the contact edge of which is essentially parallel to the base line of the spur for an ice-climbing iron, which is connected to the frame of the ice-climbing iron. It has a projecting wear zone with a wide contact surface and a hard-metal coating on the spur sides.

Eine Steigeisenzacke als Bestandteil von Bergsteiger-Steigeisen kann derart ausgeformt werden, daß eine lange Funktionsdauer, eine einfache Wiederherstellung der Funktionstüchtigkeit und ein sicherer bequemer Transport gewährleistet ist. Die erfindungsgemäße Steigeisenzacke läßt sich als ein im wesentlichen dreieckiges flächiges Formteil, mit verjüngtem Aufstandsbereich beschreiben, der nicht spitz Z.B. rechteckig ausgebildet ist, und dessen Aufstandskante im wesentlichen parallel zu der mit dem Steigeisenrahmen verbundenen Basislinie der Steigeisenzacke ist. Sie weist eine vorstehende Abnutzungszone mit breiter Aufstandsfläche und eine Hartmetallbeschichtung an den Zackenflanken auf.
