[origin: JPS64629A] PURPOSE: To accurately insert a cathode in a cathode tube electron gun by providing a movable supporting device for moving a gun in the axial direction and a sensor with a rod for moving the gun to the vertical direction of an axis in a backward movable manner. CONSTITUTION: A cathode tube electron gun 2 is supported by a carriage 7 for a movable supporting device 1, and the carriage 7 is moved on a sliding device 8 by a jack 9. A cathode 5 is mounted on the supporting device 4. An almost cylindrical sensor 3 is mounted on a supporting device 12, movable in the vertical direction of an axis 6. At a measurement position, the gun 2, the sensor 3 and a cathode 5 are on the axis 6. The sensor 3 has a casing 15 and a piston 14 which moves in a room formed by a distance measuring device 16 at the other end, to which a measuring rod 13 is fixed in a backward movable manner. In this way, accurate positioning is ensured so that the cathode 5 can be accurately inserted in the gun 2.
