[origin: WO8803248A1] A sleeve (58) for surrounding a nozzle (54), for injecting particulate carbonaceous material, extending into a slagging combustor. Slag which flows along the sleeve is retained by projections (80) such as ribs or pins. The slag strips off into an oxidant flow field, providing a local hot zone to assure combustion closely adjacent to the fuel-ejection orifices of the nozzle.

Un manchon (58) est prévu pour entourer un ajutage (54) destiné à injecter des substances particulaires carbonées, et s'étendant dans un dispositif de combustion de scorification. Les scories qui s'écoulent le long du manchon sont retenues par des protubérances (80) telles que des nervures ou des pointes. Les scories se décomposent pour former un champ d'écoulement d'oxydants, créant une zone locale brûlante afin d'assurer une combustion étroitement adjacente aux orifices d'éjection de combustible de l'ajutage.
