Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0289014A2] The water-tight plug contact connection comprises a two-part plug contact housing containing plug pins and plug sockets provided with electrical conductors. At least one housing part consists of an elastomer material. The first housing part has an external, essentially cylindrical, jacket surface. The second housing part comprises a projecting collar with an inner enveloping surface which can be pushed over the jacket surface of the first housing part. Between these two surfaces there are ring seals, provided with a longitudinal spacing between them, which comprise ring beads engaging in ring slots. Particularly convenient handling, despite perfect sealing, is achieved by at least one central contact spring socket and a central contact socket surrounding this concentrically being inserted in a pressure-tight manner in the one housing part, by at least one central plug pin, which can be pushed into the central contact spring socket, and an outer contact socket, which can be pushed onto the central contact socket, being supported in a pressure-tight manner in the other housing part, and by the central contact socket being provided in the one housing part with slots surrounding it at a distance for holding O-rings which, when the connection is mated, rest on the cylindrical outer surface of the external contact socket of the other housing part. <IMAGE>
