Swivel handle for doors, flaps or lids of vehicles, consisting of a handle plate (2) which is essentially flush fitted in the associated vehicle surface and which, when in a fixed inoperative position, completely covers an associated handle recess (6) and which, by virtue of a rocker bearing arrangement, can be swivelled, when pressing on an edge zone running at a distance from the swivel axis (22), out of its surface plane into a raised operative position in which it is locked by stopping means to prevent further outward swivelling in the event of a swivel load in the same direction of movement, characterised in that the handle plate (2) can be transferred alternately into opposite operative positions by pressing on two edge zones (15) lying opposite one another, and that the handle plate (2) is detained in the inoperative position and in the two operative positions by means of a locking device, the locking device comprising a locking wheel (19) which is fixed to the handle plate and which cooperates with at least one locking means (locking element 21) fixed to the handle recess.
