[origin: US4850400A] The weft yarn store comprises a rotating winder and a stationary drum adapted to receive a yarn winding. A drive in the form of a motor or magnets is disposed at least to some extent inside the drum to activate an adjusting sleeve to move the stirrups of the drum. The power required for the drive is transmitted without contact. Consequently, the effective diameter of the store drum can be adjusted while the store is in operation and automatically.

In einem Schussfadenspeicher mit einem rotierenden Wickler (12) und einer auf der Wicklerwelle gelagerten stillstehenden Trommel (11) zur Aufnahme eines Fadenwikkels wird eine Verstelleinrichtung (41,42,43,44) durch einen gesteuerten Stellantrieb (50,54,115,116,117) betätigt, wobei der Stellantrieb (50,54,117) wenigstens teilweise innerhalb der Trommel (11) sitzt. Die Antriebsenergie zum Stellantrieb (117,85,85') wird berührungslos (70,80,84) übertragen. Dadurch kann der wirksame Trommeldurchmesser des Speichers während des Betriebes des Speichers und automatisch eingestellt werden. Damit wird die bisher benötigte Einstellarbeit vermieden und es treten keine Betriebsunterbrüche auf, wenn der Durchmesser nachreguliert werden muss.
