Eine Materialbahn, insbesondere für Papiermaschinenbespannungen für die Pressenpartie einer Papiermaschine, als Filtermittel oder als Preßpolster Für Spanplattenpressen, weist sich in Laufrichtung erstreckende, einzelne Längsfäden und quer dazu verlaufende, einzelne Querfäden auf. Damit die Materialbahn eine solche Struktur erhält, daß sie einerseits schnell und kostengünstig herzustellen ist, andererseits eine große Freiheit in der Gestaltung ihrer Eigenschaften eröffnet, bestehen die in einer Richtung verlaufenden Fäden (1) jeweils aus einem Seelenfaden (2) und zumindest einem diesen umhüllenden Maschenfaden (3).
