[origin: US4874022A] A filling station for a cartridge filling and sealing machine for filling viscous or pasty materials into cylindrical cartridges having a filler valve, a positioning and centering device for positioning and centering the cartridges in a position in alignment with the filler valve, and a displacement drive for adjusting the positioning of the positioning and centering device the filler valve in relation to each other. In order to assure an exactly centered position of the cartridge prior to inserting the filler valve into the cartridge as well as dependable support of the cartridge in a non-deforming way prior to and during filling, the positioning and centering device has a unit and at least one vacuum suction holder disposed in the unit. The unit has a contact surface adapted to the outer shape of the cartridge. The vacuum suction holder is formed by a suction hose the open end of which is disposed in the unit.

Eine Abfüllstation für eine Kartuschen-Füll- und Verschließ-Maschine zum Abfüllen von zähflüssigem oder pastösem Material in zylindrische Kartuschen (14) weist ein Abfüllventil (28), eine Halte- und Zentrier-Vorrichtung (38) zum Halten und Zentrieren der Kartuschen (14) in einer zum Abfüllventil (28) fluchtenden Lage und einen Verschiebeantrieb zum Verschieben der Halte- und Zentrier-Vorrichtung (38) und des Abfüllventils (28) relativ zueinander auf. Um eine exakt zentrierte Lage der Kartusche (14) vor dem Einführen des Abfüllventils (28) in die Kartusche (14) und eine zuverlässige, die Kartusche (14) nicht verformende Halterung vor und während des Abfüllens zu gewährleisten, weist die Halte- und Zentrier-Vorrichtung (38) eine Anlage (39) und mindestens einen in der Anlage (39) angeordneten Vakuum-Saug-Halter (41) auf. Die Anlage (39) weist eine der Außenform der Kartusche (14) angepaßte Anlagefläche (44) auf. Der Vakuum-Saug-Halter (41) ist durch einen Saugschlauch (42) gebildet, dessen offenes Ende (43) sich in der Anlage (39) befindet.
