The coke oven battery consists of a plurality of coke ovens, in which each coke oven has an oven chamber (21) with heater walls forming the boundary on both sides, a heat recovery part, an oven cover and a transverse anchorage for the heater walls. The anchorage has vertical buckstays (1) extending over the height of the coke oven battery and upper (2) and lower (3) crossjoists for the buckstays as the main load-bearing elements. The coke ovens also have door frames and wall protection plate structures which transmit the horizontal loads, which originate from the buckstays and act via contact pressure elements (4) thereon, to the heater walls (6). Especially for coke oven batteries of great chamber height, it is proposed that the wall protection plate structure is designed to form a plate member skirt which can be suspended in the region of the oven cover and which, subdivided over the chamber height into a plurality of flexibly joined wall protection plates (9) or plate sections, can be flexibly load-centred by contact pressure elements acting both in the region of the flexible subdivision points and also at the upper and lower ends of the plate member skirt and, due to its flexibility, makes it possible to reduce the temperature deformation over the entire chamber height to a degree tending towards zero. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine aus mehreren Koksöfen bestehende Koksofenbatterie, bei welcher jeder Koksofen eine Ofenkammer (21) mit beiderseits begrenzenden Heizwänden, einen Wärmerückgewinnungsteil und eine Ofendecke sowie eine Querverankerung der Heizwände aufweist. Die Verankerung hat vertikale, sich über die Höhe der Koksofenbatterie erstreckende Ankerständer (1) sowie obere (2) und untere Queranker (3) für die Ankerständer als Haupttrageelemente. Die Koksöfen weisen ferner Türrahmen und Wandschutzplattenkonstruktionen auf, welche die von den Ankerständern ausgehende, über Andruckelemente (4) auf sie einwirkenden Horizontallasten auf die Heizwände (6) übertragen. Insbesondere für Koksofenbatterien großer Kammerhöhe wird vorgeschlagen, daß die Wandschutzplattenkonstruktion zu einer im Bereich der Ofendecke abhängbaren Plattengliederschürze ausgebildet ist, die, über die Kammerhöhe in mehrere gelenkig miteinander verbundene Wandschutzplatten (9) bzw. Plattenabschnitte unterteilt, durch sowohl im Bereich der gelenkigen Unterteilungsstellen als auch an den oberen und unteren Enden der Plattengliederschürze angreifende Andruckelemente anschmiegsam lastzentrierbar ist und es infolge ihrer Flexibilität ermöglicht, über die gesamte Kammerhöhe die Temperaturverformung auf ein gegen Null strebendes Maß zurückzubringen.
