Abstract (en)

The invention relates to a process for coking hydrocarbon charges such as heavy distillation products or residues. It relates more particularly to the subsequent stage of recovery of the coke after it has been deposited in the coking reactor. This process consists in lowering into the reactor (1), from a drum (3) onto which it is wound, a flexible tube (14) of sufficient mechanical strength whose lower end is provided with means for ejecting water (17) downwards and/or sideways and whose descent is controlled by the unwinding from the drum. Water under pressure is passed through the tube and through the means of ejection in the direction of the coke and the pieces of coke which are detached are removed (20). The drum can be moved sideways so as to come into position above each of the reactors in turn when two or more reactors are employed. <IMAGE>
