[origin: EP0291722A1] The gear machine according to Fig.1 has externally intermeshing gears (16, 17) in a housing (10), which are supported in bearing elements (19 to 22). These are brought into sealing contact with the gear side faces by pressure fields (27, 28) formed on their rear sides. On the outer circumference of the bearing elements, seals (41, 42) are fitted close to the gears so that as large an area as possible of the circumference of the bearing elements is relieved of pressure and is connected to the low pressure side, thereby considerably relieving the internal forces acting on the housing. <IMAGE>
