Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen aufgerauhten Druckplattenträger aus Aluminium oder dessen Legierungen, der gleichmäßig verteilte röhrenförmige Vertiefungen aufweist. Weiterhin ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung des Druckplattenträgers beansprucht, wobei man in einem sauren Elektrolyten mittels pulsierendem Gleichstrom aufrauht. Die Erfindung betrifft zugleich eine geeignete Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens.
