Abstract (en)
In the pump according to the invention which in particular comprises a body (20) having two parts (22, 36) forming a tight assembly, two apertures (32, 34) for the admission and outlet of a liquid to be pumped and means of connection (46, 48) to allow pipes (42, 44) to be connected in the vicinity of these apertures, and a rotary device (2), for example a screw, fixed inside this body, to draw the liquid in through one aperture and deliver it through the other, the two assembled parts of the body and the rotating device are made of a ceramic, composed mainly of aluminium (Al2O3), zirconium oxide (ZrO2), silicon nitride (Si3N4) or silicon carbide (SiC). Such a pump may be made without any joint and will convey virtually any type of liquid at either high or low temperature. <IMAGE>
