[origin: EP0291783A2] The filter module is formed either by a pressure chamber 26 and, located in front of it, a ceiling or wall cavity 9 kept under a reduced pressure, or by a pressure box which is provided with a connection branch and can be inserted into a ceiling or wall cavity held under a reduced pressure. Both variants contain a high efficiency particulate filter 10 which can be exchangeably fixed via tensioning and sealing elements 17/18 and 21 against the pressure chamber 26 or the pressure box. At least two sealing regions 13 and 15 are located here between the frame 11 of the high efficiency particulate filter 10 and the pressure chamber 26 or the pressure box which, between them, confine a spacing region which is only open into the ceiling or wall cavity 9. This has the effect that, if leaks occur, the leakage air flows away from the clean room into the ceiling or wall cavity 9. The filtered clean air flows at constant flow velocity into the room through the fabric sheets 41 fixed underneath the rectangular frame 38, without particulate matter being whirled up. <IMAGE>
