Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0291801A2] To prepare polyether imide fibres, the granules are brought to a moisture content of below 0.05%, the melt is extruded from holes at a temperature between 300 and 440 DEG C, and the spun fibre is wound up at a speed of up to 2500 m/min. The fibres thus prepared are drawable with a draw ratio of up to 3 : 1 and have been spun-dyed.
