[origin: EP0291926A1] An expandable, lost closure plug (10) for boreholes, to be filled with liquid under pressure, for the stabilization of rock in underground mining is provided with an elastic, tubular closure piece (16) which is automatically restrained against the borehole wall due to the liquid pressure, extends between an inlet head (12) and an outlet head (14) and surrounds a rigid distance piece (38) between inlet head and outlet head. The two ends (44, 46) of the closure piece (16) sit on cylindrical surfaces (40, 42) of the inlet head or the outlet head and are overlapped from outside by in each case a clamping sleeve (48, 50) integrally formed on the inlet or outlet head. Integrally formed on the end of at least the clamping sleeve (50) of the outlet head (14), which end faces the closure piece (16), are spring-elastic tongues (49, 51) which extend in the longitudinal direction of the closure piece (16) and can be expanded by the widening closure piece (16).
