Abstract (en)
These fibrous materials consist of an intimate mixture of glass fibres which have a mean length of approximately 110 mm with other textile fibres. The process for obtaining them consists essentially in subjecting a sliver of continuous or partially noncontinuous glass filaments (2) to a drawing-cracking operation at a draw ratio of between 1.2 and 1.5 so as to obtain fibres (8) whose mean length lies between 100 and 200 mm, and then mixing the fibres thus obtained with other fibres and subjecting the mixture thus obtained to finishing, spinning, reeling and retwisting operations on a conventional spinning equipment for long fibres. <IMAGE>
