A device for stretching the web in a loom (1) transversely comprises a carrier (51) which is parallel to the weft insertion direction and on which there are arranged, as passive stretching elements, at least one fabric support (53), which extends across the width of the fabric, and a replaceable deflection element (541,540) for the fabric for enlarging the degree of wrap around a replaceable active stretching element (551,552). Various passive and active stretching elements are usable, as required. <IMAGE>

Eine Einrichtung zum Breitspannen des Gewebes einer Webmaschine (1) umfasst einen zur Schusseintragsrichtung parallelen Träger (51), an dem als passive Breitspannelemente mindestens je eine sich über die Webbreite erstrekkende Gewebestütze (53) und ein austauschbares Umlenkelement (541,540) für das Gewebe zur Vergrösserung der Umschlingung eines austauschbaren aktiven Breitspannelementes (551,552) angeordnet sind, wobei je nach Bedarfsfall verschiedenartige passive und aktive Breitspannelemente einsetztbar sind.
