[origin: WO8704668A1] A vehicle wheel attachment offers an increased tread to support the vehicle on soft ground. A drum-like body (6) is held against the wheel (1, 2) by a co-axial anchorage device (4, 5, 8, 9) secured to the wheel using the existing wheel studs. The normal nuts are permanently replaced by special ones (10, 19, 22) which provide slots (13), screw threads (17, 20, 23) or other means by which an anchorage member (4) can be easily secured and removed without disturbing those nuts. A rod (5) from the anchorage member to the outer end of the drum, to receive the clamping means (9), is mounted, or has the ability, to flex within a limited cone. The drum (6) may have a ribbed tread (40) and provision can be made for further pieces to fit the valleys (41) and thereby alter the tread.

Un dispositif de fixation pour roues de véhicules automobiles permet d'obtenir une bande de roulement plus large destinée à soutenir le véhicule sur un sol meuble. Un ensemble en forme de tambour (6) est maintenu contre la roue (1, 2) par un dispositif d'ancrage coaxial (4, 5, 8, 9) fixé à la roue par les boulons de fixation existants. Les écrous normaux sont remplacés en permanence par des écrous spéciaux (10, 19, 22), lesquels comprennent des fentes (13), des filets de vis (17, 20, 23) ou d'autres éléments grâce auxquels un élément d'ancrage (4) peut être facilement fixé et retiré sans toucher lesdits écrous. Une tige (5) allant de l'élément d'ancrage à l'extrémité extérieure de l'ensemble en forme de tambour et destinée à recevoir les éléments de fixation (9), est éventuellement montée de façon à pouvoir fléchir à l'intérieur d'une zone conique limitée. L'ensemble en forme de tambour (6) peut comporter une bande de roulement (40) à nervures, ainsi que des pièces supplémentaires destinées à s'adapter aux creux (41), modifiant ainsi la bande de roulement.
