Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0292738A2] The invention relates to heatable or coolable parts of a double belt press or of a single- or multi-storey press, in which channels are provided for a fluid heat-transfer medium. In these channels, heat is exchanged between the walls of the channels and the heat-transfer medium by convection. To improve the heat exchange, surface-increasing inserts of readily heat-conducting material are inserted into the channels. These surface-increasing inserts have a face which is fixed to the walls of the channels with good heat-conducting contact. Emanating from this face of the surface-increasing insert are a plurality of elements projecting into the flow of the heat-transfer medium. For manufacturing the channels, bores are incorporated in the heatable or coolable parts of the double belt press. For the surface-increasing insert, which is composed of a plurality of identical or different individual parts, the said individual parts are manufactured separately and then inserted into the bore in such a way that they bear flat against the wall of the bore. <IMAGE>
