Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0293327A2] The tool holder, consisting essentially of a guide tube (3) and an adjusting sleeve (6) rotatably mounted thereon, has holding segments (7), of roughly U-shaped design in cross-section, for locking the tool (5). In this arrangement, the legs of the holding segment (7), which are designed as locking elements (7a) and driving strips (7b), engage in longitudinal grooves (5b, 5c) of the tool (5). Either the entire holding segment (7) or only the driving strip (7b) can be disengaged radially by rotating the adjusting sleeve (6). As a result, the holding segment (7) plunges into escape niches (6a) on the inside of the adjusting sleeve (6). The position of the holding segments (7) is controlled by a cam (7c) on the outside of the holding segments which interacts with an inner contour (6b) on the adjusting sleeve (6). A catch with a ball (8) and an annular spring (9) secures the adjusting sleeve (6) in the different rotary positions. <IMAGE>
