Abstract (en)
This invention is concerned with the honing of edge cutting tools and in particular with the blades of safety razors, with the emphasis being placed on the modern twin-bladed razor. The invention provides a simple apparatus designed to engage a safety razor such that the blade (30) is located into a shroud (15), the shroud being provided with a resilient cushion (26) which is intended to be forced up against a tap such that water is injected in a pressure stream over the blades of the razor. The action of passing water across the blades in this manner tends to exercise a honing action on the blades which extends their useful life over a number of months.
