[origin: EP0293608A1] Coins (24) lying on a turntable (22) driven in the direction of rotation (20) are forced by centrifugal force into a discharge channel (30) whose height limits the permissible thickness of the coins. Coins fed from the discharge channel (30) are rolled off with an S-shaped movement at a roll-off lip (38) when picked up by a conveyor belt (40) acting from above and are then conveyed away in a straight direction (42). The S-shaped movement is impressed on the coins (24c) by the arrangement of components (36, 38) which limit an exit opening (28) and which also include the roll-off lip (38). Such an arrangement ensures a reliable and trouble-free separation with few moving parts. <IMAGE>
