[origin: EP0294358A2] Electrode for an electrolysis cell intended for the deposition of a metal coating on a substrate. It comprises an electrode body which has at least one surface profiled in a manner corresponding to the surface of the said substrate; the electrode body has a plurality of parallel narrow slots which open into the profiled surface and which are connected to transverse channels joined alternatively to means for feeding or removing electrolyte. The transverse channels (9, 10) are defined by profiles (2, 11) arranged parallel to each other and at some distance from each other; these profiles have at least one profiled face (7) and are attached individually to a support (3) so that the profiled faces constitute the profiled surface of the electrode body. <IMAGE>
