[origin: WO8704925A1] Method for stimulating angiogenesis in a mammal, characterized by the use of a modulator of collagen sysnthesis or of collagen fibril assembly. Preferably the modulator is an inhibitor of the enzyme proline hydroxylase. Preferably the modulator is selected from the group which includes cis-4-hydroxy-L-proline, 3,4-dehydro-L-proline, L-azetidine-2-carboxylic acid, L-proline analogues, and their pharmacologically active analogues and derivatives. The modulator may optionally be used together with a second stimulator of angiogenesis. Compositions containing said modulators are also claimed.

Un procédé de stimulation de l'angiogénèse chez les mammifères consiste à utiliser un modulateur de synthèse du collagène ou un ensemble de fibrilles de collagène. Le modulateur est de préférence un inhibiteur de l'enzyme proline hydroxylase. Le modulateur est de préférence choisi dans le groupe qui comprend de la cis-4-hydroxy-L-proline, de la 3,4-déhydro-L-proline, de l'acide L-azétidine-2-carboxylique, des composés analogues de L-proline et leurs composés analogues et leurs dérivés pharmacologiquement actifs. Ledit modulateur peut éventuellement être utilisé en association avec un second stimulateur de l'angiogénèse. Des compositions contenant lesdits modulateurs sont également décrites.
