Peroxidically crosslinked polyethylenes (CPE) are provided with increased electrical creep strength by incorporating therein organo-silicon compounds or silicon-hydrogen compounds, which do not effect crosslinking, as active compounds in a proportion of between 0.1 and 10 per cent (relative to the plastic).

Peroxidisch vernetzte Polyethylene (VPE) erhalten dadurch eine höhere elektrische Zeitstandfestigkeit, daß ihnen keine Vernetzung bewirkende Organosiliziumverbindungen bzw. Siliziumwasserstoffverbindungen in einem Anteil zwischen 0,1 and 10 Prozent (bezogen auf den Kunststoff) als Wirkstoffe einverleibt sind.
