[origin: WO8809748A1] The invention concerns a process and a device for packing pressed balls (14) maintained under pressure between the dies (6, 7) of press. Before the balls (14) are pressed, a bottom film (18) and a top film (16) to envelope the balls are inserted between the balls (14) and the dies (6, 7). After pressing, a coating film is wrapped laterally around the stressed balls, closed behind the balls, and then severed, by means of a packing device (8). For this purpose, a cutting/welding device (13) is provided, which may be designed as an ultrasonic welding device. During packing, the balls are attached by means of encircling bands. To this end the packing device is movably mounted and consists of a film carrier (9), a cutting/welding device (13), a device (12) for applying said bands and, if necessary, an unloading device (49).
