[origin: EP0295147A2] A polyester yarn comprising primarily polyethylene terephthalate for use in reinforcing rubber goods and having the following properties: (a) an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.91, (b) a tenacity of at least 8 g/d, (c) E2.25 of 4.5 percent or less, (d) DELTA Hmf of at least 11.5 cal/g, (e) (Tmf - TmF) of at least 20 DEG C, and (f) an amorphous orientation function of 0.75 or less, wherein E2.25 is the elongation under a load of 2.25 g/d, DELTA Hmf is the amount of heat at the melting peak in differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), Tmf is the melting point measured by DSC under a tension of 0.05 g/d, and TmF is the melting point measured by DSC under no tension. or use
