Abstract (en)
This folding chair is of the type in which the seat (3) consists of at least two panels (3a, 3b) articulated with respect to one another, along their adjacent edges, by an articulation shaft (7) parallel to the common articulation shaft (6) of the branches (2a, 2b) of the legs (2) and located vertically above this shaft (6), each of the lateral panels (3a, 3b) being, in addition, articulated by its free edge to the upper ends of the same pair of parallel branches (2a or 2b) by means of a shaft (9) parallel to the common shaft (6). The back (4) consists of two uprights (13) connected to each other by a plurality of substantially horizontal bars (15), offset vertically with respect to one another and each of which consists of two symmetrical elementary rods (15a) articulated to each other by a central articulation shaft (16) parallel to that (6) of the branches (2a, 2b) of the legs (2), each of these individual rods (15a) itself being articulated, by its other end, to one of the uprights (13), along a shaft (17) parallel to that of the legs (2), whilst each upright (13) is articulated by its lower end to the upper end of one of the rear branches (2a or 2b) of the legs (2). <IMAGE>
