The device contains a ring (14) which surrounds a spraying apparatus (4) with a radial spacing and bears at least one electrode (28). Gas which flows away via the ring (14) and via the electrode transfers electrical charges from the electrodes to particles of sprayed coating material downstream of a spraying head (6) of the spraying apparatus (4). Sie enthält einen Ring (14), welcher eine Sprühvorrichtung (4) mit radialem Abstand umgibt und mindestens eine Elektrode (28) trägt. Über den Ring (14) und über die Elektrode hinwegströmendes Gas überträgt elektrische Ladungen von den Elektroden auf Teilchen von versprühtem Beschichtungsmaterial stromabwärts eines Sprühkopfes (6) der Sprühvorrichtung (4). Dadurch wird die elektrische Aufladung des Beschichtungsmaterials wesentlich verstärkt.
