[origin: EP0295369A2] The stick dispenser for applying spreadable masses, such as adhesive, lipstick or the like, has a rod-shaped housing (1) which is opened at its one end face (1') in the entire cross-sectional surface, via which cross-sectional surface the mass (M) can be advanced in the manner of a rod-shaped projection by actuating an actuation handle (8) which is provided at the other end face (1") of the housing (1) and is coupled to a piston (9), which is displaceable stepwise in the housing in the direction of the housing opening (Ö), and a rod (10) which extends approximately up to the housing opening and is immersed in the mass. To achieve a constructionally simple design which is favourable in actuation, it is proposed that the mass (M) and the rod (10) are displaced as a combined unit during the advance movement (direction x) and that the rod (10) is displaced relative to the mass (M) in the spring-loaded restoring movement of the actuation handle (8). <IMAGE>
