[origin: EP0295506A2] Brushwear, such as brushes, brooms, paintbrushes, combs, mats or the like, consist of a bristle bearer and bristles which are connected to the latter, are grouped into bundles and are arranged in several rows spaced apart. Such brushwear is manufactured by a bristle portion being prepared of a length comprising approximately the length required for all the bristles of one row in addition to a length resulting from the sum of the spacings of the bristles of one row. From this bristle portion, with corresponding shortening of the latter, loops are drawn at each bristle position with a spacing corresponding to the spacing of the bristles in the row, after which all the loops are finally attached to the bristle bearer with one of their ends simultaneously while they are cut off, if appropriate, at the respectively opposite end.
