[origin: JPS6470321A] PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of packing by continuously transferring blocks of articles while wrapping them with packing cut sheets and laterally shifting. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is furnished with a rotary folder 3, a continuously driven feeder. Packing cut sheet 27 is stored in a pocket 16, and a cigarette block 18 in a pocket 17. These pockets are supplied continuously to common conveyor section 12, conditioned paired with each other, and aligned in the radial direction of the rotary folder 3. Cigarette block 18 is transferred together with packing cut sheet 27 into the pocket 16, wrapped with packing cut sheet 27, supplied to a folding station 34, and packed with an inner packing piece 38 and an outer packing piece 39. A narrow packing piece 43 is folded at a folding station 41, and a wide packing piece 47 at a folding station 44.
