[origin: EP0295685A1] The device for fastening a rail to a tie (3) comprises an elastic intermediate plate (34) and above that a rigid pressure-distribution plate (35) which is mounted between the foot (2) of the rail (1) and the tie (3), guide plates (10, 11) fastened on the tie (3) for the lateral guiding of the rail foot (2), and clips (38) which act on the rail foot (2) and clamp the rail (1) onto the tie (3). The elastic intermediate plate (34) which protrudes on either side under the foot (2) of the rail (1) extends in each case into a receiving chamber (16, 17) formed by the guide plates (10, 11). As a result, the elastic intermediate plate (34) can produce a sufficient resistance moment against horizontal forces, so that a tilting of the rail is prevented. At the same time, the substantial forces of the clips (38) can be transferred directly over the guide plates (10, 11) to the tie (3), so that there is no possibility of a non-uniform deflection of the elastic intermediate plate (34) during assembling and thus of faults occurring in the inclination of the rails. <IMAGE>
