Abstract (en)
A stopper for test tubes used in blood sampling in hospitals and laboratories for clinical chemistry has a conical end, a cylindrical middle part to fit inside the test tube, and a cylindrical top of the same diameter as the test tube. Curved recesses facilitate the piercing operation by a needle. The preferred material for the stopper is an elastomer polysiloxane rubber (silicone rubber). A flexible protective apron is pref. made of polyethylene vinyl acetate foil.
