Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH01142186A] PURPOSE: To prevent the hand and fingers from being caught at the beginning and at the end of the opening and closing movements of the door or window, and to lock an oscillating panel at an arbitrary angle to a fixed frame, by mounting a protection means and a locking means. CONSTITUTION: An operating mechanism for controlling the rotation of an operating arm 7 is accommodated in a casing 6 mounted on a lower frame 4 of a fixed frame 3 of a door or a window. Then a roller to be engaged with a guide rail 15 fixed to an oscillating panel 5, is mounted on one end of the operating arm 7. A protection means 18 formed by an U-shaped member 19 is mounted on a lower frame 4 for preventing the hand and fingers from being caught by the operating arm 7 at the beginning and at the end of the opening and closing movements of the door or window. A locking means 42 is mounted between the oscillating panel 5 and the fixed frame 3, for locking the oscillating panel 5 to the fixed frame 3 in any angular position.
