The device comprises a lever (16) which is articulated on the body around a pivot (17) having an axis perpendicular to the direction of advance of the object (2), this lever interacting with elastic return means (21) in a deployed active position and with stop means (22) defining this position, the lever carrying both stop and expulsion means (18, 19) for the object (2), and means (20) for imparting the pivoting movement to this object during and after expulsion. Applicable, in particular, to a toy, for launching a ring, a torus, a disc, a spinning top or a ball. <IMAGE>
