[origin: EP0296314A2] In a combined inlet and exit air blower which is driven by a centripetal turbine mounted on the same shaft and is charged from a tapping stage near the front of the axial compressor of the gas turbine, advantages are obtained with respect to automatic control of the speed of rotation, maximum air rate, automatic running up to speed and starting of the gas turbine. The preliminary dust separator described in the main patent is realised in a compact air inlet filter system which provides the air inlet opening at the highest point and guides the air vertically downwards in the direction of dropping of the dust particles. With respect to the inlet dust loading, the dust precipitation and prevention of re-entry of the dust, this process optimises these criteria. Due to the easily effected series arrangment of the assembly - see Figure 11 - only two assemblies are shown - the overall volume of the filter system is reduced once more without impairing the advantages of the invention in precipitation. <IMAGE>
