In a damping mechanism for an offset printing machine with a pair of rollers consisting of an applicator roller and a metering roller, both distribution and unrestricted return of excess damping solution from an associated plate cylinder into an upper nip between the applicator roller and the metering roller are made possible by a distributor roller associated with the pair of rollers being in direct frictional contact with the metering roller. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Feuchtwerk für eine Offset-Druckmaschine mit einem Walzenpaar aus einer Auftragwalze und aus einer Dosierwalze wird sowohl eine Verreibung als auch ein ungehinderter Rücktransport von überschüssigem Feuchtmittel von einem zugeordneten Plattenzylinder in einen oberen Zwickel zwischen der Auftragwalze und der Dosierwalze dadurch ermöglicht, daß eine dem Walzenpaar zugeordnete Reibwalze in unmittelbarem Reibkontakt mit der Dosierwalze steht.
