[origin: EP0296563A1] The clearing device (3) is composed of a brush roll (20) and a mechanical snow-clearing unit (14) connected upstream of the brush roll (20), as seen in the direction of travel. An oscillating wire brush (31) can additionally be fixed in front of the brush roll (20). The brush roll (20) is mounted on a supporting frame (9) in a vertically adjustable manner by means of supporting arms (22). The supporting frame (9) is hinge-mounted via parallel bars (4) on a built-on frame (6) which is fastened to a vehicle panel (8). The mechanical snow-clearing unit (14) makes it possible for the snow removed from the ground by the brush roll to be directed away to the side by any desired distance. <IMAGE>
