The invention relates to a hearing aid, particularly an in-ear device with microphone, amplifier, volume control and receiver, in which a volume control element (5) is associated with the volume control (3) for setting a basic volume (optimum) so that an optimum volume can be set more easily even under more difficult external conditions. In this arrangement, the limits (8, 9) of the volume control range of the volume control (3) can be presettable by means of a volume control range adjustor (31), as a result of which the maximum deviations of the volume from the basic volume (7) are selectable to the top and to the bottom. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Hörgerät, insbesondere Im-Ohr-Gerät mit Mikrophon, Verstärker, Lautstärkesteller und Hörer, bei dem zum leichteren Einstellen einer optimalen Lautstärke, auch unter erschwerten äußeren Bedingungen, zum Einstellen einer Grundlautstärke (Optimum) dem Lautstärkesteller (3) ein Lautstärkestellglied (5) zugeordnet ist. Dabei können die Grenzen (8, 9) des Lautstärkestellbereiches des Lautstärkestellers (3) mittels eines Lautstärkestellbereichsstellers (31) voreinstellbar sein, wodurch die maximalen Abweichungen der Lautstärke von der Grundlautstärke (7) nach oben und unter wählbar sind. Die maximalen Lautstärkeabweichungen können 6 dB, vorzugsweise 3 dB, betragen.
