[origin: WO8805514A1] A supporting stand has arms and linking joints designed in such a manner that each arm is formed in a single piece with the corresponding joint halves. When the form of the stand needs to be changed, the two joints delimiting an arm are dismantled and the arm with its joint halves is exchanged. This process is labour-intensive and requires a great diversity of parts for modifying the stand. In order to allow the form of a stand to be changed in a simple manner, the stand has a joint (4, 6) made of two joint halves (7, 8) movable relative to each other and of which at least one is linked to an arm (3, 5). In order to allow for variability, each joint half (7, 8) linked to an arm (3, 5) has a projection (20, 21) that can be detachably linked like a plug with an arm (3, 5). The stand is particularly suitable as a ceiling stand for intensive care units, operating theatres and the like.

Un système de supports comporte des bras et des articulations de liaison conçus de telle manière que chaque bras est formé d'une seule pièce avec les moitiés d'articulation correspondantes. Si la forme du support doit être modifiée, les deux articulations délimitant un bras sont démontées et le bras avec ses moitiés d'articulation est échangé. Ce processus est laborieux et exige une grande diversité des pièces pour modifier le support. Afin de permettre une modification aisée de la forme d'un support, ce dernier possède une articulation (4, 6) constituée de deux moitiés d'articulation (7, 8) mobiles l'une par rapport à l'autre et dont au moins une est reliée à un bras (3, 5). Afin de permettre la variabilité, chaque moitié d'articulation (7, 8) reliée à un bras (3, 5) présente une partie saillante (20, 21) qui peut être raccordée de manière amovible au bras respectif (3, 5) à la manière d'un raccord emmanché. Ce système de support convient particulièrement comme support de plafond pour des unités de soins intensifs, des salles d'opération et autres.
