[origin: EP0298193A2] Profile lock cylinders are conventionally equipped with a cylinder housing (1) consisting of two annularly cylindrical parts enclosing a beard recess between them and of a flat web part (1''') connecting these parts to one another and with a cylinder core (3) mounted rotatably in one annularly cylindrical part (1') thereof, secured by key-actuable tumbler pins (3', 4) and carrying the beard, and in said cylinder core (3) there can be an additional tumbler recess (3'') for a tumbler bar (13), engaging therein, of an electromagnetic tumbler (8) accommodated in the web part and consisting of an armature (12), coil winding and return spring (14). So that the electromagnetic tumbler (8) together with its functional parts can be accommodated in the cylinder housing more securely and without adversely affecting its mechanical tumblers (3', 4, 6), the electromagnetic tumbler (8) is arranged in the inner region of the web part (1'''), adjacent to the beard recess, laterally next to the tumbler pins (4) located therein and their bearing bores.
