[origin: EP0298263A1] Trestle equipped with two double compasses (3, 8) which, through the action of a simple pressure, make it possible automatically and simultaneously to deploy and lock the legs (2, 6), whilst conferring a high level of stability. According to another arrangement, the trestle (1) can be assembled as a pair, by means of a spring (13) and a pin (14). A gripping handle (15) is provided so as to facilitate transportation of this pair of trestles thus coupled together. <IMAGE>
