Abstract (en)
If a single-use ink ribbon, for example a carbon ribbon, has completely passed through the printing station, a change of ribbon cassette must be undertaken. If in such a case no new cassette is available, the typing operation can, in some circumstances, only be resumed after a considerable delay. According to the present invention, this can be avoided by allowing, in an emergency, the typing operation to be completed without a change of cassette. This is achieved in that the take-up bobbin (12) for the reverse winding of the ink ribbon (18) can be brought into an unengaged position with respect to the driving roller (19) and can be locked in this position and in that the supply bobbin (5) possesses a device for reverse rotation opposed to its unwinding direction. As a result of the opportunity for reverse winding it is possible, in an emergency, to complete the typing operation or produce a finished letter without a change of cassette. No special tools or aids are necessary to reverse wind the ink ribbon. <IMAGE>

Wenn ein einmalig verwendbares Farbband z. B. ein Karbonband durch die Druckstation ganz durchgelaufen ist, muß ein Farbbandkassettenwechsel vorgenommen werden. Wenn in einem derartigen Fall keine neue Farbbandkassette zur Verfügung steht, kann der Schreibvorgang unter Umständen erst mit einer beträchtlichen Zeitverzögerung fortgesetzt werden. Dieses soll gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung dadurch vermieden werden, daß in Notfällen der Schreibvorgang auch ohne Kassettenwechsel beendet werden kann. Dieses wird dadurch erreicht, daß die Aufwickelspule (12) zum Rückspulen des Farbbandes (18) in eine Außereingriffslage mit der Antriebswalze (19) bring- und in dieser Lage verrastbar ist und daß die Vorratsspule (5) eine Vorrichtung zum Rückdrehen entgegengesetzt zu ihrer Abwickelrichtung aufweist. Durch die Rückspulmöglichkeit ist es in Notfällen möglich, den Schreibvorgang bzw. die Erstellung eines fertigen Briefes ohne Kassettenwechsel zu beenden. Zu dem Rückspulen des Farbbandes sind keine besonderen Werkzeuge oder Hilfsmittel erforderlich.
