Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0298302A2] Vacuum packages consisting of a multi-layer composite film serve in many cases for receiving aroma-sensitive consumer goods, in particular of (ground) roast coffee. The vacuum package consists of a central (coffee) block (10) and fin folds (14) which project on both sides. In the region of said fin folds, a tear-off strip (17) can be mounted below a closure seam (11) for easier opening of the vacuum package. Assigned to said strip is a grip tab (19), formed by punch cuts, in the region of a weld (lateral weld 20) of the composite film. <??>In order reliably to guarantee the tightness of the vacuum package in the region of the grip tab (19), the tear-off strip (17) ends with its grip end (18) at a distance from the grip tab (19) or the punch cuts of the latter. By this means, fine channels, arising at the edges of the tear-off strip (17) in the region of the lateral weld (20), are prevented from running into the region of the punch cuts. <??>The handling of the vacuum package is considerably improved during opening by a special arrangement of the grip tab (19) at a distance from the lateral edge (21) of said vacuum package. <IMAGE>
