The subject of the invention is an apparatus for levelling a metal band (3) by passing the band along an undulated path in a levelling stand (10) associated with means for tensioning the band (3) and comprising a plurality of rollers (2, 15, 16, 18) having bevelled ends axially displaceable in opposing directions. <??>According to the invention, the bevelled parts (25) are provided respectively at opposing ends of two active levelling rollers (23) (24) and the levelling system (4) (5) formed by each active roller and the back-up rollers associated are respectively mounted on two horizontal beams which can slide vertically and are each associated with means (39) (64) for adjusting the height position and the axial position of each levelling system (4) (5). <IMAGE>

L'invention a pour objet une installation de planage d'une bande métallique (3) par défilement de la bande suivant un trajet ondulé, dans une cage de planage (10) associée à des moyens de mise en tension de la bande (3) et comprenant, une pluralité de cylindres (2, 15, 16, 18) à extrémités amincies déplaçables axialement dans des directions opposées. Selon l'invention les parties amincies (25) sont ménagées respectivement à des extrémités opposées de deux cylindres actifs de planage (23) (24) et les équipages de planage (4) (5) formés par chaque cylindre actif et les rouleaux d'appui associés sont montés respectivement , sur deux poutres horizontales coulissant verticalement et associées chacune, à des moyens (39) (64) de réglage de la position en hauteur et de la position axiale de chaque équipage de planage (4) (5) .
