[origin: EP0298852A2] The subject of the invention is an apparatus for levelling a metal band (3) by passing the band along an undulated path in a levelling stand (10) associated with means for tensioning the band (3) and comprising a plurality of rollers (2, 15, 16, 18) having bevelled ends axially displaceable in opposing directions. <??>According to the invention, the bevelled parts (25) are provided respectively at opposing ends of two active levelling rollers (23) (24) and the levelling system (4) (5) formed by each active roller and the back-up rollers associated are respectively mounted on two horizontal beams which can slide vertically and are each associated with means (39) (64) for adjusting the height position and the axial position of each levelling system (4) (5). <IMAGE>
